After graduation I attended Grove City College in western PA for 3 semesters. I loved it but transferred to Appalachian State Univ. to study Nutrition. Those were great years too.
After ASU I did a one-year internship at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. My first "real job" was as a clinical dietitian at University Hospital in Augusta, GA. A major draw in taking this job was that I could share an apartment with Noelle Ihnen, my roommate senior year at BL. That was really fun! We lived together for a little over two years.
In 1987 I took a short leave of absence from my job and went to Uganda as a summer missionary with Campus Crusade. When I got back I became engaged to Mike Cave and we were married 12-5-87.
I stopped working for the hospital in 1989 when we were expecting our first child, Helen. My life since then has been taking care of children. God has blessed us with Seven! Helen is almost 11, Catherine is 9 1/2, Annie 7, Allison 6, Michael 4 1/2, Stephen 3 and Elizabeth 5 mos. It is more than a full time job. We have home-schooled for a few of these years.
Mike is self-employed and does financial planning, investment advising and
some insurance. We all look forward to being at the reunion, though the children
will probably only come to the picnic. My parents still live in Asheville
and they will be spending some time with them.
