I have been so wrapped up in waiting to receive bio’s from everyone, that I didn’t realize that you all don’t have much info on my history. So, I will take a few minutes to give you the scoop on the last 20 years.

After I graduated, I spent the summer as a lifeguard at the city pool in Elizabethton, TN. It was there that I met a girl named Melanie, and developed the crush of a lifetime. As it turns out, she felt the same about me, the only problem was that she was only 13 years old, so we never got to go out together. I went off to college, but after 2 semesters of not knowing what I wanted to do, I quit to take a managers position with Domino’s Pizza. After a few years of that, I was so burned out that I just quit and moved to Myrtle Beach SC to work as a lifeguard again. At the end of the summer, I went back to TN and took a mgr. position with pizza hut. Not long after, I was asked to move to Janesville WI to run a Domino’s restaurant. About 2 years after that, burnout set in again and I made my way back to TN once again. I took a job as a bartender, and shortly thereafter, a girl named Melanie walked in with a friend of hers. She had moved to FL about 5 years before, and was in TN on vacation. We then for the first time admitted our attraction to each other, and saw each other every day for the 2 weeks that she was in town. It was the most comfortable I had felt with a female in my entire life, but after a couple of months of a long distance relationship, we lost touch. I took a job running a full service restaurant overlooking a lake near Kingsport TN, and at the same time made a short foray into the world of stand-up comedy. ( I hosted the show at the Comedy Zone, and made it as far as the regional finals in the Showtime “just for laughs” comedy contest.) About 4 years passed until one day I was cleaning out my drawers ( dresser drawers), when I found the phone number of a girl named Melanie. We got back in touch, and after about 8 months of phone calls and letters, she came to TN on vacation again. The minute I saw her, it was like we had never been apart. Not long after, I went on a family vacation to Disney World and met Mel and her parents there, I proposed at the Polynesian Resort, and 3 months later moved to FL to marry her. My first job was in office supplies, followed by another 3 year stint in fast food. Eventually, I got a job in the business office of a continuing care retirement community where I worked my way up to administrator of the Assisted Living Facility. I have been doing marketing and administration for assisted living for the past 4 years, and have recently accepted an assistant administrator position at a CCRC that has 180 skilled beds as well as 120 beds on the assisted living side. I started the “Professional Healthcare Classic” 3 years ago. It is a charity golf tournament geared toward Drs and other healthcare professionals, and benefits the Make-a-Wish foundation. We have been able to raise over $20,000 for their cause so far, and are looking forward to even more success in the future.

Melanie and I have been married for almost 9 years now. We were not blessed with children, but we have 3 wonderful dogs. (2 labs, and a chihuahua and chinese crested mix)

Melanie works from home doing medical transcription and has a web design business that is growing by leaps and bounds...check out www.seniorlivingonline.com

Thank you all for the chance to get reaquainted, I look forward to seeing you all in Asheville.
